Privacy policy and terms of useConfetti X is a cutting-edge esports and interactive live events production center located in Nottingham, developed by White Mark and award winning architects AJA for the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies. Launched in 2022, this £5 million, 19,000-square-foot facility was designed to provide students with access to state-of-the-art technology and industry-standard equipment for esports production and emerging technologies.
The creation of Confetti X was a collaborative effort involving several industry partners. The facility includes a 100-seater, 4,000-square-foot multi-event esports venue and content studio, equipped with 4K broadcast and content creation infrastructure, a high-spec broadcast gallery, and a 10m x 4m 4K LED video wall with LED wings.
Additional features comprise team warm-up facilities, training suites with individual streaming stations, multiple shoutcaster and analyst rooms, and a green screen studio for virtual sets.
Confetti X was developed in collaboration with leading technology partners, including Ross Video, Disguise, Brompton Technology, and Riedel. Ross Video provided a comprehensive solution featuring hyperconverged production switchers, virtual production/XR, real-time motion graphics, replay systems, signal processing gear, and camera robotics, all integrated using the RossTalk protocol. This integration ensures a highly flexible and streamlined operation, enabling students to gain hands-on experience with industry-grade production equipment.
Since its inception, Confetti X has hosted several significant events, including the qualifying rounds of the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championships 2022 and the Amazon University Esports Masters 2023 Live Finals and the first-ever international university esports event held in the UK . In November 2023, Confetti X was chosen to host BBC Children In Need’s first-ever esports livestream, part of the charity’s new Game to Give activation, which helped raise £33.5 million for young people across the country.
Confetti X stands as a testament to the integration of education and industry, providing students with unparalleled opportunities to engage with the latest technologies and gain real-world experience in esports and live event production.
