Derek Buckingham, Architectural Director

With over 35 years experience in studio and technical facility architectural design, Derek has worked on a wide variety of projects for music, broadcast, film and educational establishments and clients. These include private recording studios for George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Reba McEntire, local radio stations for many BBC regions throughout the UK, recording studio complexes for the Hit Factory in both New York and Miami, educational facilities such as LIPA, Liverpool University and NYU, and broadcast complexes including independent radio producers in the Reunion Islands and the new London headquarters of German national broadcaster ARD.

Derek has extensive hands-on experience of working overseas and has undertaken projects in more than 20 different countries including Iceland, Japan, the USA, Poland and Russia.

Derek joined White Mark in 1998 as Architectural Director and has been instrumental in helping the company expand its capabilities and experience in dealing efficiently with all projects, whether they be small single facilities or high budget complexes working in TV, radio and post-production. His expertise is particularly invaluable when it comes to creating the large multi-disciplinary design and project management teams required for complex installations.
